Terms of Service

Like Current Song · effective 20 September 2026

1. What this covers

These terms apply to the Like Current Song Android application and desktop tool, and to this website. The software is free and open source under the MIT licence; where these terms and the licence differ about the software itself, the licence governs.

2. No service is being sold to you

There is no account to create, nothing to pay for, and no server operated by this project. You install the software on your own device and connect it to your own music-service account using API credentials you register yourself.

3. Your responsibilities

4. Third-party services

The app talks to Spotify and to YouTube API Services. Those services are operated by their own companies, under their own terms and privacy policies, and may change, restrict or withdraw access at any time. This project is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Spotify AB or Google LLC. Google's handling of your information is described in the Google Privacy Policy; you can revoke this application's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

5. No warranty

The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. It may fail to save a song, save the wrong song, or stop working entirely when a music service changes its API.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the authors and copyright holders are not liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from the software or its use, including loss of data, changes made to your playlists or library, or suspension of your music-service account.

7. Changes

These terms may be updated. The current version is always the one on this page, with its effective date, and every change is visible in the project's commit history.
